A young adult student of a very small stature (Morquios syndrome) couldn’t reach the toilet bowl to sit on it independently whilst at school (he required lifting to enable him to sit on the toilet, a requirement that nor the school or his carer could accomodate).
Edward was born with spinal damage and has very little use of his legs. His wheel chair is unable to fit under a standard type of playtable and if his toys fall on the floor he is unable to pick them up.

Wheelchair user with no muscle control in core muscles and legs requires to operate an electric sewing machine. Remap engineered a Bluetooth connection between the foot-pedal controller hanging under his chin, to the sewing machine receiver.
Four-year-old boy has cerebral palsy and as part of his treatment he uses a treadmill to help strengthen his legs. He can’t reach the handrails so a lower set has been made to attach to the original rails.

A powered variable height cot was made for a wheelchair using recent mother. The cot allowed her to bring her baby up to a height where she could change and care for him, and then lower to the floor to form a safe playpen
Cancer patients with metastatic spinal cord compression and who are largely bed bound, require simple exercises to maintain upper body actions. Two boards were constructed that could be mounted on over bed or conventional tables, and each contained a separate range of activities. Care was taken to ensure the activities and boards were safe and could be easily cleaned. Several features are the same as Project SO29/19.
Telescopic dressing stick with interchangeable ends for a client with a degenerative muscular condition. Her dressing stick is a solid fixed length and therefore not of practical use outside of the home. We adapted a telescopic “selfie stick” with interchangeable end adaptors, for dressing, hair brushing and shoe fitting.
The client had trouble opening windows in her kitchen due to height / mobility issues. She also had psoriasis which made gripping any kind of implement a struggle due to dry skin.
The client is having increasing difficulty removing her window net curtains for washing and subsequently re-fitting them. Balancing on an unstable chair is no longer an option. A simple cord system allows her to easily raise and lower them when needed.
An electric grabber to replace a “Helping Hand” device for a client with weak hands
The client can’t raise her arms to hang the washing out without severe pain. A washing line that could be easily lowered and raised was needed to make this day to day task bearable.
