The client contacted Remap for advice on how to clamp either of the two trailers she owns to her wheelchair so she can take her dog to the nearby park. One of the trailers had an arm for connecting to a bicycle, but it would not have worked for the wheelchair. The client was well aware and comfortable with the risks involved with hauling trolleys on the road and accepted all responsibility.
Remap Charity was approached by a occupational therapist with a request to help a disabled man continue safely living on his house boat. Council solutions were all land based however due to historic events, this man needed the privacy and isolation provided by the house boat.

An elderly and frail client needed her 4-wheel walker to be adapted to give her better support to walk within her home. Our engineer, Neil, constructed a touch-sensitive remote control for our client, who is a lady that suffers from MS, Arthritis and respiratory problems, which made it previously difficult for her to operate the press buttons on her electric bed remote. She can now operate these herself, without needing to wake her husband at night for bed adjustments.

The client needed a tray to hold boccia balls mounting to his wheel chair to free up both hands. Current solutions employed by other players in the club were wooden lap trays with holes drilled for the balls.
After talking through some ideas it appeared to be relatively inexpensive to fit a similar type try to the wheelchair using a mountain bike stem and a short length of tube to allow height adjustment.
The client occasionally changes wheelchairs so the bike stem not only allowed for some adjustment in the position of the tray but avoided the need for any permanent modification to the chair.
After a trial period with a prototype a final design was made from profiled aluminium (although MDF is likely also fine at an appropriate thickness) and using some packing materials to keep the various part fitted snug.
