They were looking for adaptive sandals for a trike for one of their patients who did not need a specialist trike but his feet kept slipping off the pedal. The physiotherapist had done some preliminary online research and found a DIY solution they thought would work well – I used it as a base for the design, with some improvements.

Connecting the battery charging pins to a HalfSun Smart Bracelet V2 is difficult due to its poor design, but was impossible for this client who has little function in his right hand. The provided peg-like clip requires precise alignment requiring dexterity. The solution was to provide an open mounting stand onto which the watch is simply placed down, providing automatic alignment and gravity providing the connection pressure.
Four-year-old boy has cerebral palsy and as part of his treatment he uses a treadmill to help strengthen his legs. He can’t reach the handrails so a lower set has been made to attach to the original rails.
