Clear Walker Tray

Client with foot neuropathy needed a clear tray on his wheeled walker, so that he could see his feet, thus preventing tripping.

Changing Unit

The child was too large for the existing changing unit, but the available space was very limited, and a larger unit would not fit in the available space. Extending the existing unit was the only option.

Modified Baby Cot

Mum of 7 month old baby, and full time wheelchair user, couldn’t put her baby into the cot, as it was the wrong height for her to wheel underneath, and the sides dropped down preventing her from getting near enough to get the baby in and out.

Wheelchair Armrest Bracket

The plastic bracket which held the armrests in place on a manual wheelchair broke. The client’s friend milled me a new one in aluminium for the right hand side. This worked well for years, but then the bracket for the left arm broke, and the client’s friend was no longer able to create a new one for him.

Modify Parallel Bars

Robust parallel bars for physio / exercise, made bars from stainless steel tube, so that they won’t break (as the previous wooden ones had).

Cot Door Catch

Parents of a child who is fed intravenously needed the doors of her specialist cot to be held open whilst they were changing feed / fluid bags etc.

Treadmill child safety rails

Conversion of an adult treadmill for a 4 year old child. The side rails provide handholds, and the front bar stops him from either tripping on the frame or knocking his head on the control panel. The frame is height adjustable to allow for growth.

Chair controller button protector

The client uses a powered riser-recliner chair and finds the controller confusing, causing her to panic. A cover was made that allows her to use a restricted number of buttons, but still allows her careers full access.

Saucepan pouring robot

Lady required automatic robot to safely pour a saucepan of hot liquid from a hotplate into a mug..

Support Leg

Client required a support leg for an existing rail beside her toilet. It was not possible to simply replace the rail due to various restraints including a brittle wall, also the leg needed to be freestanding so as to not damage the flooring.

Drinking aid

A drinking aid using a hydration pack drink tube and bite valve, attached to a re-purposed tablet computer flexi arm desk stand.

Tray with Handle

The client lives alone in a bungalow and is having problems getting her meals from the kitchen to the lounge. The OT and client had tried a smaller metal tray and was asking for handles to be fitted to the tray.
