Buggy safety tether

The client is concerned that she will release her baby’s buggy during an epileptic seizure and requires a means to restrain it. A strong retractable key chain was fixed to the buggy at one end and to the client with a wrist strap at the other.

Wheelchair Trailer Attachment for Dogs and Shopping

The client contacted Remap for advice on how to clamp either of the two trailers she owns to her wheelchair so she can take her dog to the nearby park. One of the trailers had an arm for connecting to a bicycle, but it would not have worked for the wheelchair. The client was well aware and comfortable with the risks involved with hauling trolleys on the road and accepted all responsibility.

3D Printed Guitar Stand

A lady has a tumour on her shoulder which is painful when playing the guitar, which she does semi professionally, as the strap presses on her shoulder.
There was a stand available known as the “M Brace” which would allow the guitar to be played while still on a stand, but it was discontinued from production.
The task was to make a shaped holder for the guitars so that they can be played comfortably.

Exercise bike leg support

Roy, who had suffered a stroke, was recommended to use an exercise bike to regain use of his legs but had a problem keeping one knee from staying in line with his hip and foot. A rehab physiotherapist recommended Remap to provide a means of doing this, so an extension from the pedal was made to support his leg.

Steps for young adult with Morquio syndrome

A young adult student of a very small stature (Morquios syndrome) couldn’t reach the toilet bowl to sit on it independently whilst at school (he required lifting to enable him to sit on the toilet, a requirement that nor the school or his carer could accomodate).

Narrowboat access lift

Steve, who had a recent leg amputation required a means of transferring between the cabin and the deck of his narrowboat which is his permanent home.

Seahorse chair arm support

The client has severe curvature of the spine and needed lateral support when seated in his Seahorse toiletting chair. A special arm rest was made to replace the exisiting one.

Wheelchair leg and arm supports

After a stroke, the client’s left side weakness means he needs his wheelchair to be adapted to provide additional support to his left arm and something to restrain his left leg to maintain proper posture. A gutter forearm support was added to the armrest and a plywood panel added to restrain the leg.

Sensory Regulation Spinner

Gloucestershire Remap’s task, was to produce two spinners for Sam’s Purple Class pupils, that were one meter in diameter, stable and not subject to tipping. They were to be used as sensory regulators.

Cup holder

A client with reduced dexterity required a cup holder to suit a particularly large cup. The usual cupholders were unsuitable and so one was modified to make it adjustable to suit a range of cup sizes.

New backrest for WHILL C2

Jake’s new wheelchair needed some modification to suit him. There is very limited adjustment available in the WHILL C2 as supplied – his parents asked for a raised backrest and a way in which they could push the chair when in free-wheel mode. We made a custom addition that could be fixed to existing mounting points in the frame to support Jake’s back and with a built in handlebar.

Artist’s head harness

Lizzie has been using painting as a therapy for some time. Her cerebral palsy means that she can’t use her hands to paint and as she is in a wheelchair it makes it difficult for her to paint on a commercially available easel. She needed a head harness to hold the brush and a custom support structure for her work.

Coat Maid

An ingenious mechanism to allow a lady with severe arthritis in both shoulders to be able to put her coat on herself without needing help from anyone else.
