Ramp

Patio door ramps

A pair of small low profile permanent ramps to allow a wheelchair to pass over a patio door threshold.

Powered folding ramp

A ramp for one step that could be folded to provide clearance for a door to be used.

Mobility Scooter Ramp

An ingenious solution to providing a sturdy ramp over a UPVC patio door threshold whilst still allowing the door to close and lock normally.

Child’s crawling track

The client wishes to develop her daughter’s limited physical abilities by encouraging her to crawl by using the force of gravity on an inclined ramp.

Powered platforms for children

MK Remap were approached by Redway School in Milton Keynes to see if we could make a powered platform to help children with physical and learning difficulties gain confidence in their mobility. Two powered platforms were made, based on donated unwanted wheelchair chassis, which would allow a child in an ‘activity chair’ to drive and control the platform using simple ‘forwards / backwards / left / right ‘ buttons

Garden ramp with adjustable feet

The client needed wheelchair access to his garden where commercial ramps were unsuitable. A shallow wooden ramp was made, with adjustable height legs to allow for the uneven ground.

Threshold platform for a ramp

A platform designed to stay in position under a patio door, to be used in conjunction with a commercial “suitcase” ramp.

Trampoline Transfer Device

A 23-year-old client with Autism living in a residential home having difficulty getting on and off a trampoline even with assistance.

Travel Ramp

A family had rented a house close to their son’s care home to allow them to celebrate Christmas together. A shorter than usual, dismantlable and collapsable ramp was constructed for the job.

Bolton sailing club wheelchair jetties

Bolton Sailing club is a Sailability centre, which offers sailing for disabled people. Previously, disabled sailors were lifted into their boats on a shore mounted crane, which involved pulling the boat ashore and relaunching with every changeover of sailor.

Remap worked with Jaguar LandRover apprentices to develop a solution.

TRIKE

The trike is a homemade piece of mobility equipment made from two bikes with a platform inbetween and a loading ramp. This allows someone that is disabled to experience the joys of cycling whilst still being in the wheelchair for maximum comfort with their favourite person doing the pedalling. If you happen to stop along the way at say a garden centre, then you still have the wheelchair with you for regular activities !

Drawbridge ramp

The client required a ramp for his scooter to pass though his front door directly onto the public pavement. The ramp could not be left in place and the client did not have any assistance available to fit, and later remove, the ramp. A hinged “drawbridge” ramp was made with a cord to raise and lower it.

Balcony platform and ramp

The client used to be able to access her balcony but now uses a wheeled walker and cannot negotiate the almost 5″ drop. There was insufficient room to install a straight ramp so a combination of platform and ramp was required.
