The client contacted Remap for advice on how to clamp either of the two trailers she owns to her wheelchair so she can take her dog to the nearby park. One of the trailers had an arm for connecting to a bicycle, but it would not have worked for the wheelchair. The client was well aware and comfortable with the risks involved with hauling trolleys on the road and accepted all responsibility.
An elderly and frail client needed her 4-wheel walker to be adapted to give her better support to walk within her home. Whilst initially it was thought the support was only needed on one side, it became clear there was a great deal of benefit to adapt both sides and produce a balanced walker with gutter rests.

The client has dwarfism and is just 3ft 2″. This impacts on many daily living tasks around the home which she shares with her parents. Now into her fifties the client needs help getting on/off her the sofa, getting in/out of bed and to be able to access the kitchen worktop and sink safely. We developed bespoke equipment to enable the client to do this

The trike is a homemade piece of mobility equipment made from two bikes with a platform inbetween and a loading ramp. This allows someone that is disabled to experience the joys of cycling whilst still being in the wheelchair for maximum comfort with their favourite person doing the pedalling. If you happen to stop along the way at say a garden centre, then you still have the wheelchair with you for regular activities !
The client required a means of attaching a foldable luggage trolley to the front of their wheel chair so that the chair and trolley can be pushed by one person.
The client’s two children are both wheelchair users and to improve the family’s freedom during a trip to the USA (as well as at home), a modification was needed to allow both children to be pushed by a single parent.

A gardening charity needed a means for a volunteer with severe back pain to carry documents, small gardening tools etc around the gardening site. A simple wheeled trolley was made that allows the user have access to her gardening impedimenta without having to bend.
The special school has two types of body roller to provide deep pressure therapy as the children crawl between the rollers; both have no means of moving them safely.
