The client is concerned that she will release her baby’s buggy during an epileptic seizure and requires a means to restrain it. A strong retractable key chain was fixed to the buggy at one end and to the client with a wrist strap at the other.
The client contacted Remap for advice on how to clamp either of the two trailers she owns to her wheelchair so she can take her dog to the nearby park. One of the trailers had an arm for connecting to a bicycle, but it would not have worked for the wheelchair. The client was well aware and comfortable with the risks involved with hauling trolleys on the road and accepted all responsibility.
Remap Charity was approached by a occupational therapist with a request to help a disabled man continue safely living on his house boat. Council solutions were all land based however due to historic events, this man needed the privacy and isolation provided by the house boat.
A bespoke handrail was developed which was set at the custom heights for the man, and also within the allowable boundary on the jetty while allowing maximum strength.
A lady has a tumour on her shoulder which is painful when playing the guitar, which she does semi professionally, as the strap presses on her shoulder.
There was a stand available known as the “M Brace” which would allow the guitar to be played while still on a stand, but it was discontinued from production.
The task was to make a shaped holder for the guitars so that they can be played comfortably.

The client who suffered from Multiple Sclerosis was having trouble moving between his wheelchair and the car at different levels. A standard banana board could have been unsafe as the driveway was quite steep.
Clients who have had a stroke and only have full use of one arm have difficulty using a walking frame. When picked up by the side handles or by the front crossbar the frame can hit ankles or furniture.
A client with involuntary movements is required to lay table place settings accurately as part of his college course and subsequent employment. A template was made to achieve this.
The client is very active when being changed and their carer required a means of providing gentle restraint. A padded “trough” provided the solution.
The client is a very active child who has learnt how to roll off their changing mat very quickly when their carer is distracted. A folding rail was added to provide restraint, while also allowing changing activities to be performed normally.
Roy, who had suffered a stroke, was recommended to use an exercise bike to regain use of his legs but had a problem keeping one knee from staying in line with his hip and foot. A rehab physiotherapist recommended Remap to provide a means of doing this, so an extension from the pedal was made to support his leg.
