Support/rest

Car arm rest

An additional car door arm rest for a client who was unable to drive long distances.

Exercise bike leg support

Roy, who had suffered a stroke, was recommended to use an exercise bike to regain use of his legs but had a problem keeping one knee from staying in line with his hip and foot. A rehab physiotherapist recommended Remap to provide a means of doing this, so an extension from the pedal was made to support his leg.

Seahorse chair arm support

The client has severe curvature of the spine and needed lateral support when seated in his Seahorse toiletting chair. A special arm rest was made to replace the exisiting one.

Wheelchair leg and arm supports

After a stroke, the client’s left side weakness means he needs his wheelchair to be adapted to provide additional support to his left arm and something to restrain his left leg to maintain proper posture. A gutter forearm support was added to the armrest and a plywood panel added to restrain the leg.

Parkinsons chair support

A client needed support when sitting at a table to prevent falling sideways. In addition to using it at home, her husband wanted something portable so that he could take his wife out to restaurants.

Changing table

A client with learning difficulties needs a table to support him in his home while his carers help him get dressed and bathed. A folding wall-mounted table was made.

Child’s exercise bars

A 20-month old child with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) required a set of parallel bars for exercise. A pair of adjustable bars made from PVC tube was made.

Lateral support for electric scooter

The posture of this electric scooter user has deteriorated and she now requires additional support on her left hand side. The existing light weight left hand arm rest was replaced with a stronger one with additional padding.

Cycling aid

A hand rest to help a client with a prosthetic arm to ride her bike with confidence.

Shower seat

The client had suffered a stroke and was unable to use his arm or leg on the left side of his body. His wife was unable to get him into the shower as it was too narrow for a shower chair to be manoeuvred so the client’s Occupational Therapist contacted us to ask for help.

Handlebar extension

A client asked if we could help with an extension to her handlebar on her first bike. The client liked to support her hand and required the handle bar to be smaller and closer to her body.
